Working with a number of resort-style hotels in Canada, we have a range of paid internship and training positions on offer. The number of positions is limited so apply now for the best chance of securing an amazing placement.

Summary

6 and 12 month training placements. Ideal for:

  • final year students looking to gain solid industry related work experience as part of an overseas adventure
  • graduates and young professionals looking to add to and enhance their current career experience
About the vacanciesview from balcony400x267

Vacancies exist in all areas of the hotel operation including Front Office, Guest Services, Food & Beverage,  Kitchen and Rooms. Positions are operational, providing a real-life opportunity to experience working in a fast paced, high quality, international property. Successful applicants will rotate through a minimum of two roles and will have a structured training plan to follow.

About the candidates

You should have a passion for the industry and a desire to make this your career. You should be prepared for hard work, long hours and sometimes unsociable shifts. You will be well presented, attentive and will thrive on providing the very best customer service. You will be adventurous and enjoy the outdoor lifestyle.

Eligibility to the programme is dictated by Canadian work permit restrictions. All placements have been designed to meet the needs of the International Experience Canada (IEC) Co-op/Internship and Working Holiday permits. You can read more about the entry permits here.

About the properties

We are working with a select number of resort-style 4* and 5* hotels in the province of British Columbia in western Canada. Most are located in national parks and nature reserves (some coastal others lakeside) and are ideal for people with a love for the outdoors. They offer their guests a variety of accommodation styles including hotel rooms, suites and chalets and a choice of fine dining, casual dining, self-catering and other F&B outlets. There may be sports facilities for the more active guests and spa treatments and therapies to unwind at the end of the day. Waterside properties also have the benefit of water sports including sailing, kayaking, paddle boarding, fishing, etc..

Guests visit the hotels to escape the daily grind of city life and are seeking an idyllic escape.

beach aerial400x264Some people may find the remoteness of the hotels a little isolating; however, there is a real community feel among the staff and the hotels will arrange many activities to keep you occupied in your spare time. During your time off and especially after your placement you will be able to explore the region in more detail, visiting mountain ranges, beaches, national parks and the vibrant cities of Canada.

The resorts have extremely high standards and participants on this programme will be expected to learn quickly and contribute fully.

Start dates

Most of the vacancies start in May and early June 2015. However, the hotels are keen to arrange their staffing as soon as possible and are actively recruiting now. If you need to start a placement sooner or later, please contact us so we can discuss alternative arrangements.

How to apply

Don’t delay! There are only a limited number of placements available. They will be offered to the candidates who have the most suitable experience and to those who can demonstrate that they have a passion for this amazing industry. During the application process we discuss the options that exist and try and find the best position/property for you. We will do all we can to ensure you have the placement of a lifetime.
